Thelma and Louise vs Cocoon

So, Granny made a break last week from the Home. She convinced a sister of hers to come and pick her up for a little r & r...that would be rescue and ridiculousness. Apparently her roommate at the Home keeps the thermostat jacked up around 85 degrees (don't all old people like it warm??) and this irritates Granny.

Thelma, er, Granny and Imogene headed out to see the world, er, Evansville and ended up at Granny's house, which is for sale and for the most part void of her belongings. Now I figure that since she's been taking her meds regularly and eating regularly and doing all that other regular stuff folks do when there are people taking care of you, Granny's feeling like she could live on her own again. WRONG...bless her heart. And it's so tempting, seeing as how the house is cleaner than it's been in say 30 years and it doesn't smell like 15 cats are living in the attic anymore. I hear that the Pepto-pink bathroom is no more as well.

To be fair, Granny was always the fun Granny. My other grandmother was more strict I think, although Granddaddy was fun and would let me drive the golf cart at an insanely young age. So what gives?? I suppose fun Granny is feeling frisky with her meds and healthy food pumping through her ever-hardening arteries.

Not sure if she's returned to the Home yet...if you see her tell her to get her butt back ASAP before they put someone else in her Craftmatic.

Best...job....ever

So I worked nearly all weekend, had about 4 hours of quality time with my wife & son, and felt like I was going to asphyxiate at the auto show last night.

But then tonight, I went to the track with Hutch to watch the RS Spyder do some testing, and got to listen to Hutch yell "Go Yellow!!!!" and "That's Fast!!!" for an hour..............

Yep, there's definitely some perks to this job!

It's a dangerous thing to give a pregnant woman something to crave. We may have to drive to Florida to replenish the supply. I did freeze some, but I know they won't be the same...

Not quite, but almost

Okay, this isn't me yet. It was me with Hutch at about 8 months. However, tomorrow I will be breaking out the full belly panel Gap khakis that became my wardrobe the last time around. I'm getting just big enough to look a little fat and people don't know whether I'm pregnant or just letting myself go. Thanks to Lee and Dad's trip to Florida I'm doing both. Daddy brought back a giant box of the best looking strawberries EVER. Lee and I have had strawberry-fest after dinner every night this weekend. I got fancy last night and heated up chocolate...woohoo...if I weren't already pregnant...

Anyhoo, I'm into my second trimester and I daresay the sickness is abating. Thank goodness I didn't have to resort to the electrolysis-thingamabob that Daddy got online to quell nausea. He bought it for himself for his fishing trips and swears it's government approved for morning sickness, but he hasn't used it himself yet and was instead hoping that I would be brave enough to plug into this contraption. Uhhh, no thanks.

Sinus infection, day off work for me, Lee to Florida, mom stayed here, thank goodness, because I ended up with a stomach virus, ick, then Lee and Daddy returned only to find Mommy laid up with the stomach virus, now, Hutch has goo coming out of both eyes...as Lee says, "We never used to get sick until we had a kid." Here's to one whole week of work/daycare for all of us...keep your fingers crossed.
